This is such a powerful image. Fire is such a powerful phenomenon in nature. It has the ability to destroy, it has the ability to build up and it has the ability to be passed on! It can destroy much however when I think of the image of controlled fire burning the dead grass over the winter months ad the rejuvenation and new growth that follows it you realise how powerful it is to have a positive effect. Fire is ‘contagious’ it can be passed on but it is bright and cannot be ignored. Are we that fire for God?
As athletes / coaches do we have that capacity to be that fire. Yes we do and we have as servants been told to be those flames of fire. Flames that everyone can see, that hold a symbol to something, what we stand for and what God stands for. This morning on the way to work on Impact radio i heard a song (unfortunately did not get the name) and it refered to being the flames of fire for God. Thought it was quite appropriate for this piece i published yesterday.
